The Project
Olympic Dam is a mine and extraction plant that produces Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver, and is located approximately 600km north of Adelaide. The purpose built township of Roxby Downs is located nearby to service the mine. The Olympic Dam Expansion Project (OEP) was established as the mechanism to facilitate an expansion of the existing facilities to approximately 200,000 tonnes per annum. This more than doubled the existing production at the site.
Our Involvement
Aquenta Consulting were engaged by OEP to provide crucial project team members, to service many facets of the project from Cost Control through to Contract Management and Procurement. These positions were located nationally, providing support and management of significant claims for OEP.
The Outcome
The project was successfully completed on-schedule and within budget in 2000.
