Customs & Border Protection House, Office Fitout

The Customs & Border Protection House at Brisbane Airport opened in 2009. The 4 level fitout included operational and corporate services areas, secure and general storage areas, offices, open plan office area and staff and public amenities.

Our involvement

Aquenta was engaged to provide cost planning services during concept, schematic, developed and contract documentation design stages. During the tender stage we reviewed tender returns. During construction stage we managed the financial status of the project including cash flows, reviewing and recommending progress claims, reviewing variation claims and preparing cost monitoring reports.

Cost planning, options evaluation, cost management, assessment of progress claims, assessment and negotiation of variations, and final account preparation and agreement.

The outcome

Due to the nature of the services being housed in the building, understanding the security requirements of the project and ensuring these were captured in the cost plan for the fitout was critical. Ultimately, the project was completed to a high level of quality and on time and within budget.
