The Primavera Enterprise Portfolio Management solution was required to drive efficiencies through automating business processes, improving compliance and improving the quality of decision support information thereby enabling improved decision making. Primavera is used within Sydney Water IT for Project and Program Management activities including scheduling, issues and risks and project financials, reporting and time sheeting.

Our involvement

Aquenta was engaged to provide functional implementation of Primavera P6 R8.3; gathering of requirements through workshop, designing and configure the tool, testing, migrating all old projects (95) into Primavera and creation of performance dashboards and reports. The team also provided scheduling services, developed training material and user guides for Sydney Water staff and delivered training and mentoring for relevant staff in the Primavera P6 suite of modules.

The outcomes

Aquenta delivered significant upskilling of Sydney Water IT staff in the use of Primavera P6 including the clients capability for full resource-loaded schedules with a process to request resources through Primavera P6 functionality and detailed forecasting for current financial year and high-level forecasting for future years. The team also supplied the client with the capability for capturing all issues and risks on the projects within the Primavera tool.
