Leukaemia Foundation’s ESA Village

The Leukaemia Foundation’s ESA Village provides accommodation for blood cancer patients and their families. Originally located at what is now the site of the Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital Centre for Children’s Health Research, the facility was relocated to Dutton Park in 2012. Facilities include 30 apartments within a multi storey building, children’s playground, gym and spa, auditorium and a family/games room.

Our involvement

Aquenta was engaged to provide cost planning services during schematic, developed and contract documentation design stages. We prepared schedules of builder’s quantities and during the tender stage we reviewed tender returns. During construction stage we managed the financial status of the project including reviewing and recommending progress claims and reviewing variation claims and preparing cost reports.

Cost planning, cost management, schedule of quantities, assessment of progress claims, assessment and negotiation of variations and final account preparation and agreement

The outcome

The project was one part of the far larger Lady Cilento Health Precinct project. Existing facilities had to be relocated to make way for the construction of the new Centre for Children’s Health Research. The facilities were delivered on schedule and within budget, providing the Leukaemia Foundation with a new purpose built residential facility.
