Mills Park Redevelopment

Mills Park is a 6-Star Green Star rated community centre with extensive recreational facilities. The centre, part of a 24-hectare recreational space, includes tennis courts, soccer and AFL fields, children recreational facilities, exercise equipment, skate park, picnic and barbeque areas, shelters and gazebos, cycle paths, car parking and associated landscaping.

Our involvement

Aquenta was engaged by City of Gosnells to provide robust cost and risk advice to enable the client to make decisions based on scope of work and project budget.

  • Cost Management – Cost Planning (Concept, Schematic and Detailed Design and Pre-Tender estimate), Lifecycle Costing, cost input to Green Star Rating, Bill of Quantities, Progress Recommendations, Financial Reports, Variation assessments
  • Contract & Commercial – Tender evaluation and review of tenders including negotiation of market rates
  • Dispute Avoidance & Resolution – Review and assessment of contractor claims resulting from delivery delays; providing City of Gosnells insight to determine the application of damages to the construction contract.
  • Asset & Facilities Management – Capital Allowance and Tax Depreciation for the Community Centre.
The outcome

Aquenta’s cost advice provided the City of Gosnells with knowledge to make informed decisions regarding strategic direction for the project and was pro-active in seeking value engineering opportunities in order to ensure that project stakeholders achieved the best value for money possible. The outcome of the above works was a robust assessment of cost and risk that enabled the client to have confidence in the budgets put forward for funding approval.

The project was finished ahead of programme and under budget.
