Queensland Curtis LNG Project

The Queensland Curtis LNG (QC LNG) project to expand existing coal seam gas production capacity in the Surat Basin is one of the largest capital infrastructure projects in Australia. The project includes the construction of well sites, gathering stations, compression stations and a 540km export pipeline to Gladstone where a natural gas liquefaction plant is currently under construction on Curtis Island.

Our involvement

Aquenta was first engaged to review and make recommendations for proposed contracts to be issued for engineering and consultancy services. We were subsequently engaged to assist the QGC Management Team in the preparation of Project Initiation Notes (PINs) and development of a defined enterprise business process to facilitate the C&P role. We are currently providing contracts engineering and contracts administration roles for many of the work packages currently in delivery phase.

Construction management.

The outcome

Dealing with rapidly changing design and ensuring that costs are being correctly forecast are critical on these roles. Our ability to provide the client with accurate forecasts and costs of work done on such a complex and dynamic project such as this is testament to our staff and the advantage of engaging key personnel with experience dealing with contract and administration duties on major complex projects.
