The outcome

The Surfers Paradise Foreshore Redevelopment reconnects the heart of Surfers Paradise to the beach. It provides the local community and visitors with an imaginative yet functional open space that enhances the area’s status as a world-class tourist destination and creates an area that caters for large numbers of people. This project won the Planning Institute of Australia’s ‘Award for Excellence’ in 2013 and received a special mention for the ‘Space & Space Making’ category at the 2011 Gold Coast Urban Design Awards.
