In 1994, Aquenta was initially engaged by Sydney Opera House to undertake a strategic review of facilities operations, advising management on the different delivery options and making a recommendation. The commission included an assessment of current practices, identification of better practice in the market place, in Australia and overseas, to ensure that the FM supports the changing business requirements.

Aquenta helped develop a Customer Services Agreement, incorporating customer requirements into a new performance based specifications for new contracts. Aquenta developed a unique procurement strategy to ensure the new contractors could adapt to a changing cultural environment within Sydney Opera House, whilst providing best value for money.
