The Gabba

The Brisbane Cricket Ground, better known as ‘The Gabba’, is home to the Queensland Bulls and the Brisbane Heat cricket teams and to the Brisbane Lions, AFL team. The redevelopment of ‘The Gabba’ was undertaken in multiple stages, commencing in 1995. Stage 3 incorporated a new 15 bay Northern Grandstand, Stage 4 comprising 18-bay Eastern Grandstand, 5-bay Western Grandstand, Stage 5 the 15-bay Southern Grandstand, and the final section of the grandstand (Stage 6) comprised the final 9-bays. At completion of Stage 6, the world class stadium holds approximately 42,000 seats.
